Interns
- Jimmy, Ceal, Jeff, Jessie
Each year, the George Hall Farm hosts
a limited number of interns. Some interns have been on college
vacations, in between school and the next phase of life, or just
interested and willing to learn about organic farming practices. Many
stay for short or long terms starting in May/June, during the planting
season, while others come in July/August during the harvest season.
What do you gain by working at Hall’s Farm?
When you work with us, you will learn
how to farm organically, how to identify and care plants, and how to
work hard. Really, don’t be fooled. Farming is hard work,
but we guarantee that you will find it satisfying. One of the
things we hear most from our students is that they feel good about and
proud of the work they are doing and what they are learning.
It’s an open atmosphere, where we
learn together. Bring and share your ideas! We’ll see if we
can implement and/or improve them as a team.
What about housing and pay?
Limited on-farm housing is
available. Call the farm for more details.

Dress requirements?
Working in the elements can be hard on
skin. We recommend long sleeves and jeans, hats and
sunscreen. Rainboots and raincoats are also helpful.
